Appendix 2 of the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code (IMSBC Code), formally Appendix D of the BC Code, contains the laboratory test procedures, associated apparatus and standards to be used when determining the Transportable Moisture Limit (TML) of Group A (liquefiable) solid bulk cargoes.[1]

The three test methods listed in Appendix 2 of the IMSBC Code used to determine the TML of solid bulk cargoes are the:

  1. Flow Table Test (FTT),
  2. Penetration Test (PT) and
  3. Proctor/Fagerberg Test (PFT).

There are two other methods used to determine the TML of solid bulk cargoes that are not listed in Appendix 2 of the IMSBC Code and they are the:

  1. Modified Proctor/Fagerberg Test for Coal and
  2. Modified Proctor/Fagerberg Test for Iron Ore Fines.
